Unable to Restrict Background Usage and Notifications for WhatsApp

Recently I restricted whatsapp background data and battery use as I was getting lot of messages , eventually distracted , but still I am getting notifications how ?

Now before u say turn notification off , no i can’t, the problem is the two tick mark if anyone massages me he gets the two tick mark even my notification is off ..

I was a Samsung user I did the same thing and it was fine but in this phone after restricting background use I am still getting notifications +two tick marks which means it is using

background data.

This could be due to the fact that a lot of apps (likely WhatsApp as well) have their messages and notifications pushed through Google Play Services.

You would have to do one of the following

Turn off notifications for WhatsApp
Restrict Google Play Services
Turn off WiFi/mobile data

You know the Andriod app push notification by Google’s FCM. They can push notification without running the app. The OS like Nothing Os and Pixel Os, the background control is not strict. That’s why your Whatsapp still push notification to you.

I think you can go the setting in Whatsapp interface and trun off the notification. That will be useful I think.
