I guess you already know this but there’s a core logic behind bigger sizes of phones recently
1. As smartphones tech keeps evolving, the power consumption in phones also increases. Look at all the ai stuff thats being pushed into phones. There are so many unnecessary software features in recent phones (nothing os is actually the opposite, it is so clean and pure while offering an excellent aesthetic and customization)
2. Compact size = Lesser space for a bigger battery which can keep up with the current standard of power consumption in phones. That’s why the galaxy S base variants or the zenfone compact phones have battery sizes that are so small that any user, even if one uses minimally, will have to charge their phones at least 2 or even 3 times a day. This causes so much battery anxiety, I have personally used <4000mah phones until recently and I cannot emphasize on how frustrating that is.
