Hey Joao, nice! So, I’ve been a Nothing user since the Ear(1) came to market so, here’s my take. And there’s 3 areas:
- Ecosystem
- Nothing OS
- Community
So, ecosystem. They’re building an ecosystem of products that work together. This akin to a few other manufactures on the market but, I do think it stands out in two ways (a) accessibility - the value you get for the price you pay with Nothing is exceptional. (b) they’re supporting the ecosystem and are building good apps that support it (Nothing X) as well entering into new product areas (Ear Open) which the bigger plays may not. Even the CMF products are well built, funky and push boundaries.
Nothing OS, feels different to the majority (if not all of) other Android skins, it’s nicely designed, fluid and adds good features where they need to be added. Nothing are also supporting their devices very well, you’ll see frequent updates to improve bugs, security patching, etc. And, I love the general styling of the OS. I’m on a Phone(1) and honestly, it’s still running fluidly and handling my day-to-day workflow with no hiccups. With Nothing OS there’s still a lot of excitement and the brand are working to introduce new features, and I think they’ll work hard to bring more AI to the OS which will be nice.
Finally, community. The fact there’s a space to ask your question is one thing. But, also there’s easy way to submit feedback which is picked up by the support teams and actually actioned, some developers in this very community have seen their features developed or added to the OS and, you also get insight into how a tech company is actually run. This really makes you feel like you’re part of something vs. having something that is just simply a tool.
I’ve had all range of phones and devices. But, Nothing is a brand i’ve come back to time-and-time again for these 3 reasons.
Any questions, let me know!
