Hi everyone,
My name is Stijn, and I want to thank you for allowing me to join the forum.
I am studying Economics and Business Economics in the Netherlands (my home country), but I am currently on exchange in the beautiful Canada.
I have been a fan of Carl since he started OnePlus, so when he left the company to start Nothing, I was naturally interested. Seeing that part of the OP team has followed him to Nothing, and seeing them partner with Teenage Engineering, has increased my interest even more. And so has what they have done with ear (1). Unfortunately, ear (1) wasn’t the right fit for my ears, but they still looked and felt amazing.
I look forward to hearing ideas and opinions from everyone in the community, and to be able to help each other out in case there are any issues.
One of the pieces of technology that dropped my jaw was, and still does, is the AMD Ryzen line-up of CPUs. Their amazing comeback is truly inspiring, and so is them challenging Intel on everything that Intel has claimed in the past (like that anything more than 4 cores is useless, and that you really need a new motherboard for a new generation of chips). I love a company that challenges the status quo, and I hope Nothing can do that as well.
The other one was the OnePlus One. It was my first non-budget smartphone, and the philosophy behind the One was just amazing. To compete with the mainstream brands at such a low price, and with such great software was just amazing. I hope Carl can continue the philosophy and ideology in Nothing.
My favourite song, and song lyric, is definitely Viva La Vida, by Coldplay
One of my favourite quotes is: “True power is not pretending to be what you’re not. It’s admitting the truth of who you are.” from Suits.
My spirit gadget would be the Ninentdo DS Lite and 3DS(XL)
I have spent many years of my youth playing Super Mario, Mario Kart and Pokémon on them, and I still like to pick them up sometimes, blow the dust out of the cartridges and get to playing again.
