Google wallet asks which wallet to use

When I try to tap my Gym pass or loyalty cards, Google wallet always pops up 2 wallet icons (both names Google wallet), I then have to pick between the 2 options.

This fails the tap and I have to quickly try again. Sometimes it takes 3-4 attempts.

Most of the time my payment card is ok and just goes through as expected, but today it also did the same.

I have a Work Profile on my phone so I was wondering if that was the cause?

I have tried to look for other possible reason but cannot see any.

Anyone else see this issue?

Having a work profile does clone some apps/services but this can differ depending on your current setup. It doesnt usually clone wallet/gpay, at least not from my experience.

Another thing to check is Settings > Apps > Cloned Apps to see if theres anything there.

Thanks for the reply….Yeah, there is no cloned wallet app.

Just that when the app is open, I tap a reader and then it shows 2 wallet icons and I have to pick which to use before it will allow the transaction. But this often causes a failure and I have to keep trying.

I have also seen this once - when I was paying it offered me the option to choose between cloned wallet apps. 20 minutes before it was fine, and after that incident it’s been fine, so don’t know how to reproduce it to log the bug nor do I have a solution for it. For context, I do not have a work profile set up but I do have a cloned app (not wallet or even a google one though)
