Photos not showing in most apps

Hi, I have an issue where the phone doesn’t load certain images into the camera roll of FB/Insta/Snapseed/photos/gallery ect.

When I navigate to the folder using the files app, I can see and open them but no other app seems to see them.

Has anyone else seen this and is there a solution?

Have you checked the relevant app permissions? Let’s use, Facebook as an example

Settings > Apps > Facebook > Permissions > Photos and Videos > Always Allow All

Is this what it looks like for you? This sounds like a permission control not checked for these apps.

Hi,

It’s not every photo.

I have an action cam and it won’t look at the videos from it but files will.

It’s the same with screenshots from a tablet.

It’s just very strange why any photo apps won’t recognise the jpg’s but files will.

Hmmm. Are these photos viewable from your Google Photos app? I wonder if these photos/videos are being stored somewhere different to where these apps are looking?

All permissions are correct.

Weird thing is that I can use a 3rd party file app to view the photo and then open it in Snapseed, if I then save it in Snapseed it becomes viewable.

Both files are jpg’s, never seen this before on my old phone.

Perhaps I’ll just need to keep using my workaround.
