As detailed above there is an international version and an India SIM variant.

International units will work in any region but the India SIM variant will require activation.

You shouldn’t experience any issues with updates.

I am planning to buy Nothing Phone 2 in India as I am in India currently. Would it be enough to activate the phone with Indian Sim card and later could this be carried to Singapore ?

What will happen to the Andriod version upgrade and Nothing OS updates ? Do all the upgrades require Phone factory reset ? Please advise.

Do all the upgrades lead to phone factory reset and will there be any requirement to carry the phone back to India for activation purpose ?

Please see info above regarding the India SIM units. Device needs to be activated in India with an India network SIM first before use in other regions. Factory reset will require you to redo this process.

KarthikNanda Updates generally don’t end up requiring a factory reset but in the event a update does bork the phone which given how many bugs the paused Android 14 rollout had you can guess how likely or unlikely that may be in the future and may have to factory reset in which case you will end up with a glorified brick.

I wont purposely do a factory reset unless its required during update.

KarthikNanda Updates should be unaffected. But as mentioned please be aware that performing a factory reset will require you to repeat the activation procedure.

KarthikNanda I would STRONGLY advise you to buy the International version from Singapore.

One never knows when problems could occur which would require a factory reset.

And with the Indian version, a factory reset done while you’re in Singapore would render the phone inoperable & would require you to come back to India & activate it using an Indian sim, on an Indian network.

Don’t take the risk.

Also the India SIM variant has a slightly different model number.

By reset do you guys mean only factory reset or just a normal reset in general.

DelvinVithayathil reset meaning a factory reset, restarting the phone or applying updates should not have any effect.
