Hello everyone,

I have a Nothing Phone 2a Plus and recently encountered an issue when trying to use ChatGPT through touch controls on my Nothing Ear headphones. When the screen is locked and turned off, I can’t access ChatGPT with the touch commands on my Nothing Ears. However, if the screen is locked but still on, the function works without problems.

Interestingly, Google Assistant doesn’t seem to have this limitation. I can access it with my Nothing Ears, even when the screen is locked and completely off. Has anyone experienced the same issue or found a solution to make ChatGPT accessible in this scenario?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I’m also facing the same problem. Have you found a solution yet?

I have the exact same problem with Nothing Ear Stick. If someone finds a solution, please post it.

I was facing the same issue! I don’t have my Ears (lol) on me but I’m pretty sure this is how I do it:

Open ChatGPT at least one, and make sure your phone’s screen is facing up (for whatever reason I couldn’t get ChatGPT to answer my questions if I started with my phone facing down). Now you can flip your phone over so it’s laying screen-down and it should do the trick.

PS: remember to manually hang up after the conversation is over, otherwise it keeps running in the background (don’t know for how long lol).

EDIT: Also, for whatever reason ChatGPT voice chat quality seems a bit off when activating it through the Ears! Anyone else noticed it or just me?

OMG you guys. I figured it out!

There’s a setting in ChatGPT you should turn on to enable Background Conversations so that you can activate it even while the screen is turned off. You can also go to Battery Usage > Chatgpt then set it to Unrestricted just to be sure 🙂

I’m feeling like Yippie-German-Cola-Fortnite rn lol
