Case getting scratched easily

I have been using Nothing ear (2) for almost a year now and the experience has been amazing. I believe the transparent design stands out from the rest and is also very unique which is always my preference.

One suggestion for improvement would be to make the case material less prone to getting scratched easily. Either protect the plastic case with a layer of Ceramic coating or to change the material to something like Gorilla Glass maybe.

I’m sad because the case doesn’t look pretty because of the scratches and I value aesthetics in the same level I value performance.

Its common for clear plastics to see wear and tear quickly, if youre using it without a case, then its normal as you bump, contact with dust in your pocket or the surfaces you place it. A case would be the solution here.

Glass wouldnt be a great idea. The next thing youll be posting here would be “Case breaks easily”

YasirRafeek_S0thVELbfy If I am not mistaken, there is a transparent sticker covering the top of the case right out of the box. The issue unfortunately with these transparent plastics is they are rather prone to scratches.

Making them out of Gorilla Glass would be a bad idea, as GG is very prone to physical impacts and simply shatters easily, drop the Ear case by accident and chances of it getting totally wrecked are quite high.

Your best bet might some kind of case or at least another clear protection film cover top, bottom and sides.

There’s clearly a protective layer on it. I guess you either didn’t get it or you removed it.

And it’s ok to get scratches. Its a clear case so it obviously shows more scratches. You are talking as if you didn’t even get a single scratch on your bike from the day you bought it.

So, I’ve been using the Nothing Ears since the Gen 1 [Ear (1)] and I was pretty upset with the same problem. Down the line I had to get it replaced because of an issue with one of the earbuds but before doing that I had ordered a transparent skin from GadgetShieldz. It worked totally fine after that.

Down the line I switched to Ear(2) and putting on the transparent skin was the first thing I did. But because of the extremely precise cutouts it was hard to align and make the entire skin stick to the case.

So, later I switched to a hard transparent poly carbonate case, which fits pretty snug and also makes the earbuds a bit more rugged while maintaining the transparent aesthetics.
