Hi everyone,
I want to share my frustrating experience with the CMF Buds Pro 2 updates in the hope of helping others avoid the same issues.
Out of the box, these earbuds were amazing—great sound, solid ANC, and good battery life. But after updating from, things went downhill fast. Here’s what happened:
My Experience:
After the update, I noticed a huge charging difference between the two buds, sometimes more than 50%.
The battery life plummeted—with ANC on, the earbuds discharged within 1.5 to 2 hours.
Frustrated, I sent the earbuds to the service center and got them replaced. However, I made the mistake of updating the replacements again from 0.0.5.5 to 0.0.7.1, and the same issues came back.
I sent them to the service center again and got another replacement. This time, I decided not to update the firmware. Now, the buds work perfectly fine—no charging differences, no battery issues, and overall great performance.
Key Issues After Updating:
- Battery Difference: The charging levels of the two buds varied drastically, sometimes by more than 50%.
- Battery Discharge: With ANC enabled, the battery lasted just 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Overall Downgrade: The update made the buds feel unreliable compared to their factory state.
Recommendation:
If your CMF Buds Pro 2 are performing well, do NOT update them unless there’s a critical fix you absolutely need. The factory firmware (0.0.5.5) seems to be the most stable and reliable version.
I hope the Nothing team takes note of these issues and delivers a fix in future updates, but for now, staying on the factory firmware is your safest bet.
