The time has come to elect your new Community Board Observer.
A huge thank you to everyone that applied.
After a record number of applications for the role, we have shortlisted three candidates; any of which could take the role based on your votes!
It will be this person’s responsibility to represent you, our community, throughout the year of 2025. You can read more about the voluntary role here.
We have asked each of our shortlisted candidates to provide a statement. Take plenty of time reading each and every statement, and make your vote count:
Candidate 1: Adam - @adbo
Hi everyone! If you’ve not met me yet, I’m Adam, more commonly known as adbo, or u/AdaaamB on Reddit, from the North East of England. I’ve been a member of the community since January 2021 when I created r/NothingTech, and I’ve been a community mod here and in the Discord since March 2022. I’m thrilled to be shortlisted for the Community Board Observer position this year.
I’ve assisted all 3 previous CBOs in helping to identify and gather your sentiment and feedback across platforms, on Nothing’s initiatives, products and services for their board meetings; whether it be hardware/devices, software updates or support/service centres. This means that I know what’s expected of me as CBO, from the board and from you, the community, and I have a good idea of how to effectively present the points you raise.
With moderating the Discord, community site and subreddit, I already see a lot of your posts and comments on a daily basis; whether they fly under the radar or invoke a big discussion, there aren’t a lot of topics that pass me by, giving me great insight into topics affecting the community, which I believe puts me in a strong position to take these forwards as CBO.
I will come into this role with a fresh perspective, an open ear (or DMs!) and an open mind, listening to everyone from different backgrounds, geographies and the sub-communities we have, not just presenting my personal opinion. One of my strengths is that I’m very detail oriented, and I apply this to gathering your comments also. If I see a piece of feedback, I don’t just take it at a high level and leave it at that, I do further research into it, understanding the full reasoning for this feedback and why it’s been written, finding out if others have had the same experience, and I have no issues with reaching out to people individually to find out more context.
I know I have some big shoes to fill from Rohit, Louis and Rob, and I’ll feel accomplishment when *you* feel that your feedback and concerns are being raised to, and addressed by, the board, continuing what has been evident from the previous quarterly update videos.
Big thanks to the Nothing team and to everyone that votes for me, giving me the opportunity to be the voice of the community I’m so passionate about.

Candidate 2: Harry - @hrry
Hey, I’m Harry, a tech/Nothing enthusiast based in the UK who’s been following Nothing since the Ear (1) concepts were released (remember those?). My journey with Nothing began with the Ear (1) and continued with being a week 1 Phone (1) owner, and has continued as I’ve enjoyed Nothing’s unique approach to technology and design.
I truly believe that Nothing stands out in a saturated tech world, and they do that by truly understanding the importance of community. My interest in becoming the 2025 community board observer comes from a desire to further the connection between Nothing (the brand), you, and Nothing’s decision-makers. My want to help is what drove me to the community in the first place and, I want to take that new heights!
The CBO role is more than a position; it’s an opportunity to bridge communication gaps. My goal as CBO is to demystify brand decisions that affect you. My approach centres on transparency, focusing on:
Providing clear, accessible insights into board discussions
Channelling community feedback directly to decision-makers (beyond board meetings)
Increased presence in Nothing’s community platforms to help community members
Beyond quarterly updates, I want to establish continuous, meaningful engagement between the CBO and the community they serve. To me, this means creating multiple touchpoints that keep community members feeling connected and valued. Whether through quick updates via Community/Discord, open conversations in the form of ‘CBO office hours’, or improved feedback mechanisms into the CBO, the aim is to make every Nothing user feel like an essential part of the brand’s journey.
Accessibility is my commitment here. The commitment is to remain available, ready to listen, engage, and support both into Nothing and from Nothing into the community. This moves beyond board observation and turns the focus to amplifying the collective voice of the community.
This allows us and Nothing to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in technology through a community-driven movement.
