I got a 2a last week in India. I have been using phone 2 since it launch and 5g was never an issue. But this phone doesn’t connect to 5g network which is unlimited 5G for least price in the world., it’s always 4G. I tried contacting jio network provider, they asked me swap the sim get a new one. Tried everything internally and and from network side now only issue I can see is with my phone. Dear Nothing please slove the issue, I can’t use the new phone.

Sarangmt1 Try setting preferred network type for your Jio sim to 5g, disabling smart 5g, and complete the 5g checkup on myJio app. If these dont work, then it just might be a network issue in your area
Recently in some areas suddenly ! appear on the network tower in my phone and internet not work after that. I tried many options but nothing work for my Nothing phone 2(a) then I changed my preferred network to 4g and now internet is working Properly but I can’t use 5g now. Is this a common issue with others also because the phone should be capable to switch between 5g and 4g as per requirement or it is the issue related to jio sim which I am using in India. Please solve this issue with update or if possible now guide me how to use 5g without ! Mark and repeated connection errors.

Same here i recently bought a jio sim hoping for unlimited 5g but 5g network does show up on my nothing 2a but others in my area enjoying 5g,

My ‘nothing phone 2a’ shows fake 5G network. It almost always shows 5G. Whereas the flagship phones of other companies show 4G. Because of this it is not known whether it is 5G or 4G because it always shows 5G everywhere but the data goes over.
Due to this I am facing a lot of problem, every day 2GB data goes over. I am not able to understand what to do.

After the update to stable Nothing os 3 on Phone 2a, there are significant network drops when trying to connect to Jio 5g or 4g. Turning off smart 5g does not help much, the phone fails to connect or takes a long time to connect. And frequently disconnects completely when inactive or waking up from standby. Calls and data simply stop working.
This may be related to mediatek drivers(?)as I faced a similar issue with another phone manufacturer after their November update. The problem got solved on that phone with bug fixes for Jio network issued by the manufacturer.
I hope other users who are facing this issue can report their experiences in this thread and Nothing can issue a quick fix.

I am facing the same issue. Network drops when phone is on standby or inactive. I have a jio sim and recently updated to 3.0 os. Please someone from nothing team help.

please provide feedback through the phone, and contact customer care too. They have merged my separate thread to this, I hope they understand this is a new issue.
I have been using my 2a since release on JIO 5g, no problems, I use hotspot to watch 4k content on tv as well because its unlimited . you probably need to turn on unlimited 5g from My jio app or have a recharge plan according. Also the network switches to 4G at night because I have sleep standby optimisation turned on.
SajiLal After upgrade to Nothinh OS 3.0 on Nothing Phone 2, the mobile internet is not being connected on both airtel and JIO sims. I have tried restarting and setting Smart 5G to off, but the issue still persists.
Is there any workaround for this issue?
Due to this, I am not able to use internet on my mobile, when not connected to wi-fi.

I have the same issue. In fast.com the speeds show 250mbs in 5g+, but when I open any apps they won’t open and they show no internet. I can’t use when I go out and do any payments or send WhatsApp or mail. Do any one have any solutions? Please let me know.
