Nothing OS 2.5.1 Home Screen freeze

After updating to stable 2.5.1 ,my Home screen sometimes freeze, Applications not responding,touch also not working only swipe down,and lock screen,power button works,I have to restart the phone to get rid of this . Anyone have this issue?,Is this a stable update?

SoorajK_WlS40U6Ldk I would suggest not to use third party widget, for example KWGT widgets. I had this freeze and it’s stable now after only using Nothing widget.

I am facing homescreen randomly freezing and not getting fixed until I restart the phone.

When this happens the whole launcher gets locked out. No touches work on homescreen, no icon or folders open. The app drawer also becomes irresponsive I am not able to slide the apps up or open anything.

The only thing that works at this time is the open apps tab button. This is becoming tiring to restart the phone multiple times during the day, even more so during Vlogging.

Any solution to this issue? I don’t Want to format, as I have loads of Vlogging data and apps.

GOD I am also facing issues and tired of restarting everytime.and embarassing that my phone started freezing after all the hype.

I’m not sure what’s triggering it, but my screen is frequently not responding since the update. I installed the update in morning and since then, it happened twice that the screen isn’t working but the notification panel is working fine. The home screen isn’t working

YatharthMaheshwari it’s same with me and it does not work until I restart. I thought it is a launcher issue so I installed a different launcher. Bit the issue remains.

YatharthMaheshwari now that a proof of it’s occurrence has been recorded, let’s wait for admin’s response. An update will not be coming anytime soon.

A workaround can be done by re-installing the launcher.

Please restart your phone and uninstall any third-party widget that can interrupt the normal workflow of the phone.

SoorajK_WlS40U6Ldk for me it is exactly the other way around, i was facing all that in 2.0.4, but with 2.5.1 it’s all gone (untill now hehe) Still have some minor bugs here and there….

Uninstall the launcher and let it reinstall, that’ll most likely fix it.

GordonLutz Not a launcher issue actually, I tried different launchers, the issue remains same still. It randomly freezes.

Also what sucks more is that being a vlogger, I missed many crucial moments, as the screen was stuck and camera app won’t open.

Absolutely, I’ve encountered a similar issue on my Nothing Phone (2). Sometimes, while using any app, my screen freezes, making it impossible to exit the app, switch to another one, or even access settings from the swipe-down menu. The only solution I found was to restart the phone, as this problem has occurred multiple times for me as well.

Yes, I am also facing the same issues.

I got android 14 update for NP2 on 25th dec and i have updated the phone.

Ever since i have update the phone i am facing many issues.

phone got stuck on home screen anytime. I can not swipe right or left from Home screen.

Also unable to pull down the notification bar from home screen. Phone is just getting freez.

Also in clear all apps screen, i am unable to swipe left to clear all apps.

unable to open previous applications.

At last i need to restart my phone every time.

I hope NOTHING team is reading all the feedback and fix this issue as soon as possible.

After paying so much money we expect some better user experience

RohitSengar yes absolutely correct after paying so much money if we will keep on giving feedback then what’s the testing team doing they should have done the proper testing before releasing of any stable update. Simply releasing update without testing it’s pointless. Don’t understand why this much bug after a stable update release.

Also another issue is during emergency you will not even be able to dial a call, as the home screen is stuck. This is a major issue

Restarting the phone 10 - 20 times a day is not an ideal situation for a phone that can be a daily driver.
