HDR Peak Brightness Discussion - Phone (2)

HDR playback on YouTube is not very pleasant.. the brightness is too low and when the gesture navigation bar is touched or moved it goes to full/desired brightness for that instant of time… even after the Android 14 stable update this issue is not resolved.

Please look into this matter.

There are lot of discussions in community regarding the HDR peak brightness issue.

The brightness level is so low while watching HDR content in Hotstar or YouTube, that even my old phone with 700nits peak feels brighter than NP2.

It’s been more than 7 months now since phone (2) launched. Problem like this still being not addressed ruins the user experience big time. Really hoping that Nothing has noticed this issue and fix it soon in future updates.

Same with my handset too. Thought it was some random issue and tried resetting the phone. But its still there and the brightness is too low to watch even indoors.

Please fix this issue, it’s a huge letdown not being able to use my phone for good quality online streaming.

I’m also having the same issue in hotstar and YouTube while watching hdr content. Brightness seems to be too low in indoor conditions and it makes a bad streaming experience for a device worth 40K

While playing HDR videos display gets even darker compared to normal/usual. It ruins the multimedia experience. It’s been an year since i have been waiting that they might resolve this issue with updates but “ Nothing engineers seems to be busy focusing on widgets and animation only ” . Kindly resolve this issue or else people like us will be forced to move towards other brands. Guys kindly vote for it so that it can reach their ears. Thankyou
