Unable to use NFC

Hi all, since updating to 2.5.1 I can no longer use NFC. In fact the wallet now says “Tap not Supported”. I am super p*ssed off as it was working just fine before the update and also, did not have bank card on me so could not pay for my food I’d went to collect… FIX THIS NOW!!!

I too had this issue.

Fixed by: disabling NFC (in settings), then re-enabling it.

[gelöscht] I’ve just searched NFC in settings and disable is greyed out… I can’t even do that… if I hold the NFC option on the draw it doesn’t do anything either :/

[gelöscht] just managed to delete cache and reboot phone again… seems to work now… thanks for the advice 🤘

Some people really need to learn how to respect others. If someone talked to you in the same way you come here and demand things, I’m pretty sure you would hate it. Don’t do to other people what you don’t want for yourself.

Solved : with a Factory reset, the payment by Google wallet is now possible and fully operationnal.

With a Nothing phone 2 - android 14 version 2.5.1.A - I tried a lot of things : cache delete, restart phone, turn on and turn off several times NFC.

NFC with Google wallet doesn’t work. I can’t pay with my phone…

Phone(1) facing similar issue

On tapping my phone, the card terminal says Card is not recognised while the wallet app screen stays exactly the same.

Would love advice on how to fix this please.

Louis ☕️ How is “do a factory reset” an actual response? I have a couple work apps (Okta Verify and such) setup that are going to be a major PITA if I need to reset the phone.

I’m also experiencing problems with NFC on Phone(2) @ 2.5.2. Similarly to what KunwardeepSinghJagdev said - the Google Wallet app stopped working. NFC readers at shops show some bogus card number being read, followed by a ‘card does not exist’ message. There is no reaction from the app, no animations launch.

I do too face the same issue. I have been resetting my phone after not getting it unlocked for various reasons and now my contactless payment doesn’t work.

Card declined or unable to read. Very frustrating . Ongoing for over a week now with no fix in sight .

I’ve got the same issue (‘Card Type Not Supported’ when tapping phone on contactless) and have done for about a month now - when is a fix coming in?

Tried on 2 different credit cards and 2 different current accounts

Hi guys, Same issue here…

NFC doesn’t work. Ive tried 2 google account with 3 different credit card…

No way.

I don’t wanna do a factory reset because my phone is configured with some works apps that I have to reinstall and configure after a factory reset.

Do you have a solution?

Contactless payments stopped working for multiple cards in my wallet on Nothing Phone (2) for a few weeks. Figured out the fix without having to factory reset the phone. Just needed to clear the cache for ‘NFC service’ and restart the phone.

To do this go to: Settings > Apps > See all apps > tap the 3 dots at top right > Show system > scroll down and select Nfc Service > Storage and cache > Clear storage. And then do a phone reboot.
