iambhuvan Would you want to have an application to decide and change the imput controls? Or Leave it to the company and just open the case to connect and start controlling from the word go?
Personally, I prefer to have an app giving me that kind of customization and control.
It’s not like I don’t trust what they see as the best option/sequence for the input, but my preferences are not necessarily their preferences or anyone else’s.
This is valid for a pair of earphones as it is for a smartwatch or a smartspeaker: great hardware without matching software is poised to feel like an island. The control a company gives to the consumers is allowing them to truly own the product.
In this case specifically, if you can make the Ear 1 behave exactly like you see fit, your routine while using them will feel more fluid, with you not even thinking about the daily interaction with the product - removing barriers just like the company’s motto so elegantly expresses.
Nothing is betting on the software front too, as you can read on the careers section: “we are looking to hire a Lead Software Product Designer to help plan and build our apps and other software services” and “we are looking to hire a Software Product Designer to design the user experience of our app ecosystem and other software services”, just to name a few.
Granted those are probably related to future products, but I do love to see it and I do hope that the big picture illustrated by the job offerings can trickle down to the detail, namely the granular controls and letting the user define the sequence of touches and what is obtained with each of them.
