Hello Everyone !
I got Nothing Phone 2a few days ago and set it up and updated the software to the current latest release.
Immediately i found this bug where the internet connection from sim card gets turned off and few seconds later on again every now and then. The time period between these toggles could range from 5 - 15 minutes usually.
Before that i also want to establish other parameters;
Yes, my sim card is active and works fine on other devices
Yes, the network strength is very good and so are download and upload speeds, i have another sim card from the same isp in another device which works fine.
No, i don’t have any hidden apps or extra charges on my data plan that might cause this.
Yes, the nothing os is up-to-date, as mentioned above.
No i do not have preferred network type as 5g since my sim card provides only 4g but it works good enough so the network preference is set to 4g and APN is set to default.
Yes, developer mode is turned on but i haven’t toggled anything otherwise that might offset it.
I am only using 1 sim card and one more thing, whenever the internet shuts off, it still shows above in notification panel that the internet connection is on.
And yeah the frequency of this happening is almost random but apparently happens more so when using whatsapp but also happens in chrome and play store.
And lastly, no i am not opening too many internet consuming applications simultaneously (2 at most of very low usage).
I searched about this on the nothing community page but didn’t got anything similar on 2a. So, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading it all !
Phone is great otherwise ! Network speeds are pretty good and performance in other sectors is really nice. No complaints there! So far.
(I will update later if the bug stops working or I find a fix.)
Hey, I don’t know if it counts as a fix , but immediately turning off the internet connection manually from the notification panel, when the connection goes down automatically, and turning it back again fixes it immediately and it works again.
