The two points you make are not only fair, but also something we’ll discover when the comparisons start.
And we’ll have a lot of them, if not thinking about the readers/viewers, to feed SEOs with the words “Nothing”, “Sony”, “Bose” and I am pretty sure a lot - and I mean, a lot - will compare them to products from OnePlus.
To me, the price is competitive. But now comes the critical part: traditional media and YouTubers. Even fairly priced and with a solid quality all-around, if the first reviews are not great, it’ll be hard to get a second opportunity with the same product.
A few names can shape the idea of a product for a lot of people, even if they never try it during their lifetime. Not only that, but some customers consume reviews from just one outlet, which can naturally taint the overall opinion about something.
The price is an important piece of the puzzle and Nothing nailed it. But a piece is not the whole puzzle.
