Static noice when recording with USB type C mic

I have the Apple EarPods Headphones USB-C , Wired Ear Buds. the mic works on all my devices except on my nothing phone 2a. whenever i try to use the mic on the ear pods, all it records is static. Ive tried checking if it was app related, by recording with in-built recorder app, but faced the same issue and all i got is static. the earpods play audio just fine, but impossible to make calls, record voice notes, or even record notes to self in the in-built recorder app.

any help would be appreciated.

pidigo9280 Hey, I just tried with my (2a) and EarPods type c and I have the same static noice. Please report this to the team using the feedback feature located in Settings -> System -> Feedback.

Daniel I did and i was given a list of trouble shoot steps like “clean your microphone because it could be dust”, “consider using an alternative mic” “Network Connection A poor network connection can affect call quality”.

when i explained to them its clearly some software issue with the nothing pone 2a, they asked for more information and at that point I tapped out. After giving as much information as i could, including recorded audio clips, in 3 different communications and they still didnt seem to understand the issue. Hopefully someone in the community has the patience to go the distance with them

Yes facing the same issue on my Nothing Phone I get a static screeching sound from my in-line microphone while recording or playing any online games with voice chat on in the games

I use :

Soundmagic E10C earphones

Fiio x JadeAudio JA11 USB-C to 3.5mm adaptor (with inbuilt DAC)

Whenever I connect the earphones throught this adaptor, I get that noise continuously. However , this setup works properly on my Xiaomi Pad 6 and ASUS ROG laptop without any issues at all.

Interestingly, Soundmagic has provided an computer adaptor which separates the audio output and mic input terminals for the PC. So, when I connect the type c adaptor to the computer adaptor and then to the earphones via audio-in terminal , the noise disappears as the online mic is seperated and turned off so the phone uses its own mic instead.

I think it the issue with NP1 software trying to analyse and decode the inline mic input through the DAC adaptor resulting in that noise. Definately a software issue.

Yet to try it with a non-DAC adaptor.

Any help regarding this?
