I wanted to make this post to share my experience with the Phone 2a since the latest update.
Better:
- Overall performance and smoothness has been improved. When I first got the device it was super laggy and stuttery. It could still use a little more refinement but overall a much better experience.
- Camera app seems to open a little faster now.
- Battery life has been great, I’m ending my day with about 50% and around 5 hours SOT all while on cellular here in the US.
- Charging seems faster to me because I think the phone was having compatibility issues with my charger which looks to have been fixed in the update.
Could use improvement:
- The phone still stutters and lags from time to time so a little more optimization could probably fix this.
- Portrait mode in the camera falls behind when it comes to edge detection. It really struggles when trying to figure out what to blur out and what not to.
- Photo processing speed is on the slower side
- Fingerprint reader is also a little hit or miss at times
Overall I am loving this phone, especially for the price point. I have confidence this phone is only going to get better with more updates and can’t wait to see the Nothing team continue to improve this device!
