Although I love the look of transparency, I’m not sure about glass or plexiglass as an enclosure material when it comes to speakers. Someone mentioned exposed drivers as well - again, cool looking and I love it, but aesthetics shouldn’t be prioritized when in search of high quality audio. The sound would be questionable.
Speakers made with glass enclosure never sound as great as ones made of wood or MDF (obviously). I think in the 1970’s, the Japanese company Pioneer Electronic tried marketing clear enclosure speakers and/or demo’ed them. The looks were awesome. The sound quality, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired. Everything was significantly weaker than the wood version, especially the bass.
Perhaps designers can incorporate MDF and transparency into their design. I do like your design, and it looks to have a double enclosures. Maybe the first enclosure be made of wood of some sort, follow by a transparent external enclosure. Or was that your initial thought and design? Sorry about that.
