I am a Japanese waiting for my Phone(2a) to arrive tomorrow.
The shutter sound in Japan is not regulated by law, but by self-imposed regulation by smartphone manufacturers.
(For example, Xiaomi’s 13TPro, which I am using until today, is officially sold in Japan, but the shutter sound can be disabled with a simple setting.)
The latest update seems to have reduced the volume of the shutter sound, but I think what Japanese users really want is the ability to turn that sound off.
(Especially for parents like me who want to record the sleeping face of their cute child.)
