*I am really excited to share my concept for the community edition:phone(2a)*🤩
I have tried to find an intersection between my passion for design, recycling and nothing to produce something that meets the requirement for the community edition.
Primary focus is on the CMF:
- Colour: In an injection moulding process we generally colour correct, plan the dosage of the pigments to get our desired colour but what if we go with the flow? When they aren’t controlled, materials blend in their own way creating beautiful patterns and designs. I aim to capitalise on this to make every community edition device unique and stand out from other devices.
- Material: We could re use/recycle the materials from prototypes or the sprue/runner or the rejected components used in the manufacturing ear(stick) or our house hold plastic waste. Making it a fun activity.
- Finish: It would be nice to get a nice moulded finish.
This further gives us the opportunity to ship the devices with wallpapers, packaging design inspired by these patters on the camera bump and function buttons (power and volume).
As a designer I loved the design on phone(2a) and did not want to take away what it has, rather tried to see how I could add more value to what it already possess.
Hope you all like it as much as I did while conceptualising my idea. Sharing some posters for the design unfortunately blender wasn’t possible but will work on learning it and try to share some 3D models as well.
Also, I am loving the other designs shared as well, a lot of creativity out there.
