Phone (1) Poor Call Quality

Dear Nothing phone Enthusiast,

i am so happy to own those two design pieces and I am very happy with that.

But when using my nothing phone (1) with my nothing ear (2) during telephone calls, Whatsapp, discord or normal calls, my listener reports me that my voice quality is very bad.

When I am connecting my nothing ear (2) with another android phone the call quality is much better during discord, whatsapp or telephone calls.

I was already opening a ticket with the nothing support team. But resetting the nothing ear (2), updating everything, and cleaning my nothing ear (2) was not helping anything. Because those quality issues disappear with another android smartphone.

So my conclusion is, that it has something with the drivers of the nothing phone (1).
Did anybody experience the same low quality call issues as me and could this be resolved?

It is a very weird Issue.
And my other Android Smartphone does not change the Mic and hearing Quality so bad like the Phone(1) is doing.

I know that the in general all Bluethoots In-Ears are changing in a low-quality mode when the microfon is used. But this quality during the ear(2) is so low that even my listeners are saying i should change and use my wired headset.

There has to be some issue with driver Settings.

I think the only test we can do is a hardwaresetting of the phone(1) and reinstall everyhting on a fresh phone.

On nothing 2a, USB c and Bluetooth is not usable.

fishhf Wow that looks brutal bad. I like the nothing design and products. But the basic audio Quality should work always. I dont know what can go wrong with this.

Even GSMarena.com during their review said the audio quality is not ideal. But I thought this will be sure ok for me. What can be wrong for basic telephoning. But yeah I should have had taken care more of this Fact.

Hello,

I tried hardware resetting the my phone(1) it was fixed for a while. However the call quality declined again, it is not possible for me to hard reset the phone everytime this happens.

Can someone provide any updates regarding this?

ArunavaChanda You can do a reset of the network adapters by going to Settings > System > Reset Options > Reset mobile network settings - then restart the phone and see if that helps. This won’t wipe your data.

I have the same issue and i use my phone 1 and ear 2 for work calls so its really important they work
