I was so excited when I heard about Find My for Android finally being useful. It’s one of the very few Apple’s features that I always hoped Google would implement.
For Nothing, I wouldn’t expect any this year’s non-phone products to have it, especially if it’s rolling out for North America only so far and God knows when for everyone else.
For Phones, it’s gonna be as soon as possible in my opinion, since Google is going to make every device with Android 9+ part of the Network upon user’s agreement.
For me, big part of the Find My feature is being able to access the phone’s location even when it’s turned off, which is the only way to have a chance of getting your phone back realistically (theft, losing your phone and someone trying to take advantage of it). Unfortunately, as far as I’m aware, that requires dedicated firmware (which is why only Pixel 8 series have it at the start) and that takes time. I expect 2025 Nothing phones to be the first ones with this feature.
