I have been an early adopter of the nothing products, with my very first experience with NP1. I bought the Ear(2) to complete the suit of experience and it was wonderful…until it wasn’t. For the last couple of months the Ear (2)'s performance i.e. the call quality, and the dual connection setup has become horrible with the progressive updates. With the latest ChatGPT integration, I don’t know what happened to the earbuds but the call quality is so bad I can’t help but move on to the Sony earbuds. it’s shameful. The dual connection takes 15 seconds to switch between devices and sometimes (frequently in fact) it has to be put in the ear case, and then restarted so that it can work properly again. This was not the experience I was looking for when I was spending 10K (rupees) on a pair of earbuds which don’t live up to the mark. Please, I request you to make changes, it’s not nice to be a part of an ecosystem yet experience mediocre service from products that market themselves as market-leading.
Ear (2) is just bad now
Same some issues : It’s been a year since I bought the ear2. After the new update my ear2 lost quality altogether. Lost bass and started hearing noises like radio tuning. ANC is now worse than before, my Spotify and youtube are premium, all the songs are not comfortable to listen to, now my ear2 which I bought for Rs10k is the quality of my old Redmi wired headset which I bought for Rs600. Please come back to old quality… If your updates are like this I will not recommend Nothing Ear series to anyone.
I was using Ear 1 first, and then I switched to Ear 2 in an exchange offer by Nothing. However, after a year, my left earbud stopped working suddenly. There wasn’t a single scratch on my earbud; it hadn’t fallen, and there was no damage. When I faced the problem, I thought it was because of the earbud being discharged or something else, as when I placed the earbud in the case, it showed a red light. But even after a day, the left earbud was still not working; it was completely dead, while the right earbud was working normally.
I visited the service center for my problem, and they told me I had to purchase a new left earbud since it was out of warranty, costing 4000. They also mentioned that if the case had a problem, I would have to buy a new case for another 4000. I was very careful with my earbuds; there wasn’t a single scratch nor any damage, and it happened suddenly with no mistake on my part. Now, as the earbud is dead and cannot be detected by the case, I can’t connect it with my new phone and can’t use at least the right side earbud. This means I have to purchase new earbuds or a single left side earbud, which seems worthless.
Even when I was searching for any solution on the internet, I found no solution. Many customers like me had the exact same problem, only with the left earbud—some with Ear 1 and some with Ear 2. In the end, I have to purchase new earbuds of another brand under 4000 as I can’t afford the expensive ones after just a year. It’s a manufacturing fault by Nothing.
