Nothing in the in the phone 2A review comes from a long-time Apple user.
~ Quality 9/10 The overall quality is pretty impressive, and everything is good phone-wise. The CPU, like you said in your videos, is great. The battery is very good, and the screen is one of the best screens I’ve seen on the phone market.
~ Build: 10/10 The sleek build feels smooth on the edges. I will be getting a phone case, though. No problems with that, and it is genuinely a good product for the price. ~ Operating system: 8/10 The Nothing OS is based on Android 14. I believe it’s good, but there are way too many Google products. I had to disable them, but the problem is that they are system apps, so things like conferences and meetings are unremovable, so I can only disable them. It would be more understandable to manually download those apps if you need them rather than bundle them into the OS (I’m not sure if this is an Android problem or not). Overall, it seems good regarding everything else. I did have some issues with SIMs but I had to change to use 5G settings.
~ Performance: 9/10 I saw a few videos on the nothing phone and saw it stutter in the videos. So far, I have seen none of that when scrolling through YouTube. The only time I’ve seen it happen is when I was scrolling through a 500-page PDF. It encountered some slowness, but other than that, it had almost perfect and smooth performance.
~ Sound 6/10 As a former Apple user, you can hear a clear difference in speaker sound quality. I thought it was a sound bug until I checked the settings. It sounds decently, but not on par with an Apple product speaker. This is probably the biggest con, but it still sounds good, just not as crisp as an Apple phone. Linking my headphones worked perfectly and sounded great. I have Bose 700s, and it sounded just as good, if not better, than the iPhone. When connected, the Bluetooth seems to have more range than any Apple phone, as well as the Wi-Fi picking up probes faster.
~ Camera 8/10 There is not a lot to say about the camera wise. The picture is pretty good, but I think Apple dominates the market. However, I will say the daytime photos look really good and pretty much nothing noticeable. I noticed a few exposure issues in dark settings, but other than that, I would put it above a Google Pixel camera in quality but just below the iPhone.
Summary: Overall this is one of the best purchases. I totally recommend this product for even Apple users. It took me a couple days to get used to it, but overall, the quality of such a cheap phone is crazy, almost unbelievable. The only drawback was really the speaker, but great job. Nothing; maybe you need to change your phone name to something! 😂
