The camera in 2a has 50 MP resolution according to specifications. This works in a standard mode.
However when I enter manual (“expert”) mode, or use an external app (for example “Open Camera”) to configure manual settings (exposure etc.), I’m allowed to use only 12 MP as a maximum.
My questions:
- Why is that? (The 50 MP image in a standard mode is the same image, size, processing… as if I choose a manual mode, only with different settings.) When there is a 50 MP sensor, why I cannot use it as I wish? (DSLR/DSLM cameras also don’t restrict full resolution only to the “green” mode.)
- Is there any solution to this?
- Is this the case with any current phone (those that claim to use 48/50 MP), or does some model/brand actually allow for full manual settings at the maximum resolution?
I understand these are “only” mobile photos and megapixels are not everything. But they can be important when it comes to prints or cropped images. Besides, my previous phone had 24 MP as a maximum, and there were no restrictions.
Thank you.
