I bought the cmf phone 1 because I liked its looks/specs/price and I was curious to see how it would stack up against my other phone. The premise I wanted to find out for myself was - does anyone really need a $900 phone?
So far I am really loving the phone. Feels good when i use it and people comment on it when they really pay attention to its back. Good experience all and all.
Now the gripes:
- Where are the accessories promised ? I’ve been looking all over for the back covers and NOTHING. Not even a blurb on when to expect them.
- I didn’t mind the limited 128G storage on the phone because according to the website I could supplement it with an SD card. I had to eat a 256G SD I purchased because the phone refused to recognize it. Looked for fixes and/or updates on the community bulletins but NOTHING.
- Cmf’s phone 1 and Android Auto don’t like each other. I keep getting this annoying pulse vibration whenever I plug it in with the USB cord. Searched for fixes but NOTHING.
Unfortunate coincidence that my search for workarounds and answers for these issues and questions keep matching the company’s name. NOTHING
I was considering on getting the watch but folks who got it are also having the same issues as I am. No availability on straps, bezels, etc. Also technical issues are largely being ignored, just as with the phone.
So this is what you get when you purchase a Nothing product. You get the product and NOTHING else. My phone comes with a couple of years worth of software and security updates and I believe I am going to run out on them before I see my issues answered or even addressed by Nothing.
I understand Nothing is a young company and I will always be the rooting for the underdog" type of guy. I believe that the company should pay more attention to what customers are saying and at least acknowledge them and their issues.
Still hopeful this can happen because the product and its premise are so worth it.
