I received my CMF Watch Pro 2 today and set it up. One thing that is a bit confusing is that you can receive notifications for nearly every app under the sun but not for RCS messages. After some playing around, it seems as though you can receive only SMS (not RCS) notifications. I am not sure if this is by design or just an oversight. Most flagship android phone users are using RCS in the US so this is a pretty important notification for the android ecosystem. Luckily, I use Signal heavily and like I mentioned, I have no issue with those notifications coming through since I just enable notifications for that app. I looked for Google “Messages” app in the list and did not see it, only the SMS choice. Is there a way to get RCS messages through the Google Messages app (only SMS work right now in that app)?

    Yeah I’m disappointed as well, since the original watch pro…RCS has not been supported! I would love RCS support but I don’t think nothing or cmf care since this is mainly a US issue. Fingers crossed they update, if they do that, it will be my favorite watch!

    This is actually perplexing to me. They say that the app just looks at and pushes notifications but this is issue shows that that is obviously not the case. Messages doesn’t distinguish between SMS and RCS messages but somehow the CMF app does?

    seanwo can I ask how you got signal notifications to work? Signal did not show up on the list of apps I can get notifications for within the cmf app

        seanwo I wound up cancelling my WP2 order because of this. I get at least twice as many notification for getting RCS messages as every other app notification summed. This was a dealbreaker on the WP1 also. I just don’t understand how CMF can make such an egregious miscalculation.

          seanwo wow, I literally don’t see signal in that list. The inconsistency of behavior of this watch is making me wanna return it honestly til this is figured out or someone figures out how to side load a new OS

            I just received my CMF Watch 2 Pro. This isn’t a deal breaker for me, but I am disappointed as most of my texts use RCS. I would love some support for notifications in the Google Messages app, add RCS, or both.

              RCS is a deal breaker for me and many others. Should not be that difficult to add with firmware update.

              I know in the United States Google is using it for all texts on new Android phones and leaving RCS off is a big issue
