Wired headphones NP2

Hi everyone, just bought NP2 (EX iPhone 11) and bought a usb-c audio jack adapter cable for my iPhone wired earbuds. Unfortunately I only have audio, microphone does not work and volume control neither. When I call with another phone to check I hear a very annoying tinnitus sound instead of a working mic.

Wondering if usb-c iPhone wired earbuds would work properly? The adapter stated it should work unless the phone has audio jack which it doesn’t.

I prefer not to use Bluetooth as I have severe hyperacusis and tinnitus and Bluetooth heavily influences this. It’s also pretty unhealthy.

Anyone got those earbuds working please?

I use them for dog walks and podcasts but also making phonecalls as my ears are so sensitive it’s hard for my tinnitus and hyperacusis. Volume control definitely needs to work.

Also wondering if any cable adapters do work or this is a typical NP2 problem. I live in the EU and ordered one off Amazon NL which looked ok quality wise. I also have wired Bose noise cancelling headphones which I would love to be able to use but they have audio jack.

MMillecamps I have a NP2 & use a USB C to 3.5mm jack adapter with a built in DAC ( there are also passive jack adapters, without a DAC) with a Chinese wired earphones with a mic & the combo works fine for music/calls.

I would strongly suggest that you try out your adapter & Apple headset with another Android phone & try to isolate where the issue lies before buying anything more.

While testing, do note that Samsung & Pixel phones require a jack adapter with a built in DAC to function.

I suspect your issue lies with the jack adapter but do experiment before you splurge.

I use this adapter for my headphones and so far I haven’t had any problems, I have not yet tested whether you can use a microphone with it. I do not have iPhone earbuds, so I don’t know if the volume control works eather.

Maybe it’s a bad one although most reviews were okay. I placed one that says it’s not working for me. I’ll try to find someone with an android and check it there. Thanks for the advice, now I know it’s not my phone.

I will probably buy some apple usb-c buds so I won’t need a cable for the walks and occasional phone calls. I do need to find an adapter for my Bose headsets.

My adapter works pretty okay for audio (I tested 3 different brands) so initially I thought it would work for all the rest. I used my work phone to call myself and I had only a very annoying beeeeeeeep sound coming from my NP.

Just tried my 2 Bose sets with cable and I hear nothing at all through the mic just some slight static noise. I call myself with my iPad and music next to it and go outside with the other phone. 😂
