I received my phone yesterday and after a weird issue during setup where connecting to wifi froze up and rebooted the phone eventuall, the experience has been so good! It installed each update immediately all the way to the latest android 13 beta without having to register for the beta anywhere.
The Phone(1) feels super premium in hand and I can’t believe Nothing was able to turn out something this high quality for their first offering! I try basically every phone that comes out in the US and my current daily driver is the Pixel 7 Pro. Shockingly, the build on this feels higher quality and more premium than my Pixel 7 Pro at a 3rd of the cost!
The software experience is basically the same as using a Pixel as well with a super clean ui straight from Google and I don’t notice any speed difference between the phones when opening apps or browsing around the os.
The one spot where the Pixel 7 Pro wins is in the camera department. Don’t get me wrong, the Nothing Phone(1) has a pretty impressive camera for the price point, but Pixel is just on another level with their camera processing software.
Nothing has a real winner on it’s hands here and I can’t wait to see what they come up with for the Phone(2).
