In-ear detection that changes stereo to mono

As the title says. Currently Nothing X app has in-ear detection for Ear. Not sure about other earbuds. But some people frequently use only one earbud because they NEED to clearly hear from other ear. I know there’s transparency mode, but it still needs some work. Switching in the app such as Spotify becomes a hassle when I personally switch up from 1 to 2 earbuds. Sorry if it was said a lot before, but this small addition would greatly make my day 🙂

It’s incredibly frustrating that the earbuds don’t switch to mono automatically when you’re listening to one bud.

It’s also frustrating that the mono setting is buried in the system and Nothing won’t allow widget toggle to be used on that setting like they allow on many other settings.

i hate this as well, i use one earbud a lot and i miss mono playback i wish nothing could listen and figure this out

Hope this gets fixed soon. I’m using Nothing Ear (2024) and I’m loving it. It’s just a disappointment that this feature isn’t available when it should be. All the other bluetooth earphones that I’m using has this feature.

I too was unpleasantly surprised that this wasn’t a thing. I really hope this feature get added soon, or at least a widget toggle.

I also find quite disappointing that it doesn’t automatically switch to mono. My 4 year old galaxy buds do that. I love the nothing ear a lot and I hope that they will bring in a feature update this feature. I also emailed them so maybe they will listen to their customers.

Just picked up some Ear (a) buds, and I will often use my earbuds with just one it.

I see you are saying here it will not /automatically/ switch to mono, but is there a manual way of doing this? I can’t find any settings in the Nothing app. I am using an Samsung android phone.

Yeah, so in nothings apps you can’t do this, but from the phone settings you can manually turn mono audio on. I currently am on IOS and I have a shortcut for whenever I want to turn this on or off, but I think you can do something similarly on Android as well.
