Alert Slider or Action Button

I think alert slider was some what underated feature, it helps us to change the profile without taking out side of our pocket. Needed feature in daily work flow. Expecting this feature from you in upcoming phones.

moorthy_d93 I’m someone who always has their phone on silent so don’t personally find this a very important inclusion. How often do you find yourself switching?

Is it safe to assume you’ve owned OnePlus devices in the past?

Alert slider is one of the most favorite and useful feature.

OnePlus was the 1st android to get that. Infact in Phone(2), I presumed a slider at back when the phone was teased…

But still waiting for this feature….

I definitely was a big alert slider guy back in the day. It took me a while, but I do think the Flip to Glyph feature helps remove the requirement for this if you’re just switching between two modes e.g. silent and loud, or silent and vibrate.

However, I would welcome its return to quickly switch between silent and loud modes. Even moreso, if it could also pick up further functionality that if you switch to silent for instance, it would also silent other features of your device e.g. keyboard haptics too.

I’m fond of the concept of an alert slider. However, when I owned the OnePlus 11 earlier this year, I struggled to operate it effectively. It was hard to switch even without a case on, let alone with one.

I was a heavy user of the alert slider on my 9pro, I thought it would be one of the things I would miss the most while switching Phone(2) but in less than a month the Flip to Glyph function made me change the way I use my phone and I think it was a brilliant Idea.

But I also agree with Luis, an alert slider with more function would be great.

Btw, it would have been nice if the switch design on the nothing phone 2’s back was an actual switch

Seems like a big missed opportunity

Anyways now that apple has introduced the action button and slowly phasing out the silent switch, companies are gonna copy it, if nothing does it u would be the first to have a second movers advantage.
