We are always working away in the background thinking up ways to elevate the community experience for all of our members. Today I’m excited to be sharing a few cosmetic and functional improvements to our community website!
How about a little changelog…
🌗 Dark mode
Perhaps our most requested feature … you can now toggle between day and night modes across the community site. Click/tap on your name in the menu to find the toggle.
⏱ Realtime
New notifications will appear automatically and new discussions will appear on the homepage without needing to refresh. You’ll even see typing indicators on each thread, letting you know when other users are about to drop a reply. Overall this brings a number of performance and experience improvements to our community that are long overdue.
👥 Follow other community members
You can now follow your fellow community members. This means you will be notified when they post, simply choose whether you want to be notified of new discussions or for all of their comments too. If you click the ‘following’ button on the homepage, you will see a filtered view of content of only the content you follow.
🙂 New default avatars
For those without a profile picture uploaded, the default avatar system has been revamped to bring some joy around the community!
🤝 Accepting platform terms
It’s now even easier to see when we update our platform usage terms and to accept them. You’ll see a notification on your home screen whenever there’s something new. Users who don’t accept our terms will be unable to post here.
Behind the scenes, a round of updates and optimisations are in place to keep the site running smoothly and efficiently - a big thank you to our developer.
