Unable to open pictures from camera app

Hi, I have a Nothing Phone 2a with Android 14 and Nothing OS v2.3.1.

For some time now, I am unable to open a picture directly from the camera app (tapping in the bottom-left corner just after taking a picture).

I have the default Camera app (v14.0.02.31.31) and the default “gallery” app, Files by Google (v1.4678.667290778.0-release).

I have tried also with Open Camera keeping Files as gallery, and when I tapped the picture, a popup from Files said “We can’t open this file type”, even if it is possible to open it from Files itself (either with JPEG or PNG).

Both Camera And Files have the right permissions to access files.

Did someone encountered this issue before and knows how to solve it?

I would prefer to keep both the default camera app and Files as gallery, since this combination was working fine for me before this sudden issue.

Castez Hello. It seems you have disabled/uninstalled Google photos. That is the default gallery app. Google files is meant for file management.

Castez try to update yours phone up to NOS 2.6 think it will fix it.

Re-activating it solved the problem.
