Always on display & android auto

My always on display is set to off, but when I connect my phone 1 to android auto the always on display turns on and stays on while phone is connected to android auto. How can I not have aod on while connected?

Do either of you have ‘Stay awake’ turned on in Developer Options? I also experienced the same behaviour, but I assumed this was because it’s just plugged in and the car uses it. As it is constantly charged it’s not the end of the world for me.

“Stay away” is turned off. I use wireless android auto, so phone is not charging in this moment.

Having a dig online, it seems this is a wider issue with Android Auto on multiple different Android devices. Most likely, it has something to do with Android Auto’s built-in settings and how it interacts with the phone.

Nothing can’t do anything in this situation as it is something controlled by Google, so for now the only option is to connect your phone to Android Auto and then manually turn the lock screen off, if you don’t want the screen on.

Louis ☕️ I have the same issue and I noticed that if you cover the front camera and then manually turn the lock screen off, it stays off…so it’s not something controlled by Google. My best guess is that face recognition does this continuosly while the phone is connected to AA via USB.

You meen turn off exectly “lock screen” right?

When you make a call when connected to AA, do you see the call screen on your phone or nothing as I don’t even see any hint the phones making a call, you can’t end the call on the phone as there’s nothing to click to hang up if you wanted to via the phone.

I have a problem with the Phone (2) is connected with the Android Auto, The mobile display is kept on despite all the always on display options are disconneted. Do you know of any method for the screen to remain off? or is a bug of the system?

I have the lock screen option in off and the screen kept ligth up too

Your Android Auto at least works, not like mine, I have VAG car and Nothing Phone 2, and Android Auto doesn’t even turn on, and Nothing does Nothing about it.
