I think Carl made comment on this but, R&D cycles take years of planning so, the copy statement isn’t true and, let’s be real they’ve used a similar design across the iPhone X, XS, 11, and 12.
There’s only a few ways that you can place two cameras on a phone, and clearly Apple have decided that the iPhone 16 design is the best way to do it or, they want to change the camera layout to distinguished between models.
