KamiKaze This is stupid. What if you have to factory reset your phone while on a buisness trip. You end up with a glorified brick. If the phone had a list of Indian sim cards and would activate if it was inserted would still be fine but this is a joke of a solution.
SIJISUKUMARAN I purchased a Nothing Phone 2 in India and currently use it with my Airtel SIM card. I will be traveling to Japan next month and want to know if I can use my phone with a Japanese SIM card during my visit.
ajithwilson I work on ship. I brought nothing phone 2 in india. It got reset after unrolling out of beta . Now its asking for indian sim and signal.how to unlock without it.since i will be 6 month out of india.
Derren ajithwilson Hey 👋 Please see the information above. India SIM units will need to be unlocked with an India network SIM (local, non roaming) before use in other regions. This is also the process if for any reason you need to reset your phone to factory settings. Since you’re not in India at the moment i suggest getting in touch with support to see if they are able to assist.

I request you to stick to your motto ‘sophisticated yet simple’. Please help with unlocking the phone for those who have already purchased without this knowledge and mention this info clearly in your product info to the costumer from now.

RajatChoudhary this phone was designed for comfort and ease of access. Big troubles like this and that too at initial set up is a breach of that comfort and ease of access. DISSAPONTED.
Derren RajatChoudhary Apologies for the frustration, it may be worth getting in touch with support to see if they are able to help. Was there any particular reason that you needed to pick up the India SIM variant over the international version?
KamiKaze Derren Is there any particular reason that you need an Indian sim to be inserted in the first place on an otherwise ‘unlocked’ phone. Second on the store page under network the fact that the Indian units are nerfed isn’t mentioned on the network page of the website.
RajatChoudhary Thanks Derren, its just my colleague was coming back from his leave from india, and i wanted a new phone, so i asked him to bring phone 2. thanks it, no where it was mentioned that only indian SIM will required for the initial set up.
