Phone(3) appears on Geekbench

A059 is rumored to be the device code for Phone(3), it has just been listed on Geekbench with a SoC compatible with Snapdragon 7s Gen3 and 8GB of RAM. No indication about the SoC for the Pro/Plus model yet.

sean (1) well that’s what I expected too but since they decide for a 7s gen 3, the scores make sense: Phone(2) uses 8+ gen 1 which is in a whole different class of processors.

Furthermore, searching A059 on Geekbench gives two results, the first one in the original post and the second one is this:

As you can see this second result shows higher scores but still under performing with respect to Phone(2).

But who says that its phone 3, maybe they want to launch phone 3a before the phone 3 that maybe will be released in summer at the end.

And in the other side this processor can help to hold the prices low compare to other flagships.

Or A059 could be Phone (3a) and A059P could be Phone (3). (If they are released around March next year, that would be a year after 2a was released.)

My take on this is that it might not even be Phone(3): the model code A059 is smaller than Phone(1) and Phone(2)'s model codes (A063 and A065 respectively). Furthermore, this SoC is dedicated to the midrange market, so it’s definitely not a flagship.

Although, Nothing has a history of bad naming schemes (e.g. Ear(2) -> Ear) so who knows.

I expect Nothing will continue using Mediatek for their CMF range because they are cheaper chipsets than Qualcomm’s.

Only phones (1) & (2) used Snapdragon chipsets, so I reckon this 7 series phone is the phone (3) Vanilla, and there will be a (3) Plus/Pro too.
