I agree, if there was another way of preventing this I’am for it.

You can find other people conplaining about the same thing for OnePlus phones. Maby it’s something Nothing took from them.

On Nothing Phone (2) it moves way too much (for 3cm). Seems like Pixel phones have it move just an unnoticeable amount. Maby Nothing should look into this.

But also no company wants to take such a risk. If there was one phone with burnt display, this would probably ruin Nothing’s Reputation.

Why does the AOD ( Always on display ) component keeps shifting throughout the day? Sometimes it’s on the topmost art of the screen and sometimes in the centre. How do I fix this?

This has been happening around 2 days back my time, notification and control buttons in the phone while always on display is sometimes changing its position from the middle of the screen to bottom of the screen time to time, what is it about and why is it happening ?

Did you update to the latest version of OS 2.6? If you did, it’s possible that is the cause. There have been issues related to the display (icons, status bar, etc) since the update. There are threads talking about that currently. As for as official solutions, just gonna have to wait for the next update. Unofficial like using a different launcher might fix it but I can’t personally vouch for that…yet

I have noticed that the aod on my phone 2a has the clock positioned at the top of the screen throughout the day but at night it moves to the centre. Is this a glitch or did I mess up something in the settings?

ShabdSrivastava oh no it moves to the centre if there are notifications, it goes to the top if there are some notifications, happens with me too, using nothing phone 2

It moves up and down the screen.

I’ve complained about it multiple times and in fact awhile ago now I threw my Nothing Phone 2 away cause I just couldn’t take that anymore.

Bought a Pixel 8 Pro cause the AOD stays in one place like it should.

They don’t cause burn in, I’ve had many Pixel phones with the same AOD and have never experienced burn in on any phone.

ShabdSrivastava oh yeah my bad i confused it with some other thing, it moves to prevent screen burn in, my lg tv has aod and its clock also moves every 2 seconds so it happens with every tech nowdays

GordonLutz I’ve had many Samsung phones over the last couple of years and they all had moving AoD. Even their latest top tier phones have moving always on displays.

In fact when I got my Nothing Phone (2), it was the first phone I’ve owned with a static always on display. It bothered me so much I submitted feedback and complained about the fixed always on display. The AMOLED panel of the NP2 doesn’t seem to be highest quality to start with and I don’t want any additional burn-in risk due to a fully static AoD.
