Nothing Launcher Crashing with Android Auto

I’ve been experiencing issues with the Nothing Launcher crashing when plugged into my car and using android auto. This does not occur in every instance but has occurred at least 10 times since purchasing the phone. When I plug into my car, android auto launches and music will play but I will not be able to control volume nor change tracks from my car or the phone. When I unplug the phone, the screen goes black. I will not have any functionality but I can feel vibration if I attempt to hold the power button, so I believe the phone has not turned off or rebooted. What happens next varies. Sometimes I can press the power button and/or volume keys several times and the launcher restarts and everything works fine. Other times, with the same pressing of the physical keys, the phone just reboots and everything works fine again. Anyone else experience this or something similar?

Having the same exact issue. Here’s the email I send to the nothing team:

"While using Android Auto on a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta (wired) and a regular Bluetooth connection for about 15 minutes - system UI screen goes black and I am forced to hard reboot. I have encountered this issue using both PocketCast and Tidal. I have not yet experienced this issue with my 2021 Volkswagen Jetta with USB C. The older Jetta uses USB A.

I will also add, device is Nothing Phone (2) on version 2.0.3 "

Hi everyone,

For the past couple of months I’ve been experiencing the following problem: every time my phone (1) connects to Android Auto the phone either crashes or turns off by itself (not as soon the phone connects, it might be after some minutes or even about a half hour).

I already contacted customer support and they suggested the following things:

update Android Auto
restart phone and car
grant permission
clear app cache and data
check for compatibility

I’ve already tried all the above without any success, so i’m wrinting here in hope to find someone who might have had the same problem as me and fixed it.
