After a lot of discussions, here and all the buzz on the socials, it’s finally official:
The ear (1) now come in Black!
After 5 months, we have a new look to the ear (1). With a clean matte finish I’ve never been in such a dilemma on which one I like more!

The case also has a an all new look with a frosted like texture. If you’re a design enthusiast like me and want to know more about the all the new finishes they tried out and design process I really loved this video by Tom Howard, the Head of Design at Nothing.

Well my question in the end to everyone will be which one do you pick?
Are you happy with the design of the white ones - having the striking white on black, easily identifiable transparent look. Or you’d like to switch it up - go with a more subtle, matte black on black look!
Personally like I mentioned before, I’m in a dilemma. 😆 Being a design student, I’m so drawn to the White one, it’s striking look just catches my eye so much. At the same time my love for black and matte black pulls me towards the new black editions of the ear (1).
“Switch your look. Go minimal in original white or get moody with black.”
Let’s discuss, which ones you like more? 😉
In addition, two other exciting things:
- The ear (1) is now Carbon Neutral. Nothing is ready neutralize the carbon footprint right from their first product! Which is something to be really proud of.
- Secondly, it’ll soon be possible to pay for your ear (1)s with cryptocurrency. Nothing will accept payments in Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), and Dogecoin (DOGE) from Dec. 13! How cool?
