Wassup Community,
Ya’ll know our community site could use a little makeover. But don’t worry, I’m here to give it a fresh new look and some cool upgrades. We want to make it not just useful, but also visually appealing and fun to use.
Here’s what you can expect:
• A Modern Look: The site will now have a sleek, updated design that feels modern and professional.
• Light and Dark Modes: Whether you prefer a bright and vibrant look or a subtle and moody dark mode, this update has you covered.
• Mobile-Optimized Version: No more struggling with clunky interfaces on your phone! The new mobile version ensures a smooth and intuitive experience on the go.
With these changes, I’m taking the community site to the next level. I want it to be a platform where you’ll actually enjoy using. So, take a look and see what we’ve done! I hope you love it!
Desktop Version
The desktop versions of Nothing have been revamped with a new type serif font, and I’m super excited about this change! I know some of you might be grumpy about it, but hear me out. I think Nothing made a great decision by letting go of the “Nothing” font for regular text. While the “Nothing” font is awesome for icons and logos, it can be a bit hard to read and, let’s face it, not the most attractive. That’s where the serif font comes in to save the day!
Here’s why this switch works so well:
• The serif font adds a touch of modern minimalism and elegance to the design.
• It makes the interface way easier to read, so you can use it more efficiently.
• Overall, it gives the site a clean, fresh, and professional look.
In addition to the font, the Nothing Community logo has also been given a much-needed makeover. The logo was way too big and felt out of place in the layout. I’ve shrunk it down to make it more balanced and subtle. The dark background in the light theme was also a bit jarring, so I’ve replaced it with something more cohesive and pleasing.
The color palette for both light and dark themes has also been revamped. The new palette is balanced, vibrant, and subtle, perfectly matching the modern design language and creating a fun and enjoyable user experience.
But the updates don’t stop there—tile sizes and other interface elements have also been refreshed to make the site look even better. These adjustments include:
• Optimized spacing and alignment for a more consistent look.
• Refined tile sizes, making the site look cleaner and more organized.
• Improved hover and interaction effects, making the site feel more dynamic and responsive.
These enhancements, along with many smaller tweaks, come together to create a visually appealing, functional, and polished experience.
Mobile Version
Now, let’s talk about the mobile versions! These updates are all about making things easier to use and keeping the look of the original design.
One of the coolest things is that we added a ‘Start a Discussion’ button in the bottom-left corner. It’s right where you’ll see it, so you can jump into a chat without having to search for it.
I also changed how notifications work. Instead of having them in a separate section, I’ve put them on your profile page. This makes it easier to check them and keeps the home page clean and focused.
I also redesigned the home page to make it simpler and clearer. The old design had a lot of stuff on both mobile and desktop, which made it hard to find what you wanted. Now, the new layout puts the most important stuff first and keeps everything organized.
Oh, and I changed the colors to match the new desktop version. They look fresh and modern, and they make the interface more fun to use.
There are also a few other small changes throughout the mobile interface, like:
• We made the spacing a bit better for touch interactions.
• We changed the icons and button placement to make things easier to use.
• We kept the important design elements so it still feels familiar, but we also made it better.
I know some of you might not be ready for a complete redesign just yet, and that’s totally okay! These changes are a good start, and they’ll make things even better over time.
Alright, here’s the pitch- I’m not an expert, but I’ve got an idea. I know there’s already a redesign and a new look in the works, and I totally get it. But sometimes, it’s the little changes that make a big difference, right?
This isn’t about starting from scratch; it’s about making things better without changing everything. A few small updates here and there, and suddenly, it feels fresh and new without losing its old charm.
So, that’s my idea—nothing too crazy, just simple improvements to make it look and feel better. You know what I mean, right?

And, did I mention that next up is widgets?
Peace out!
