Not sure if you might be too young but there was an age where we had three compatitives Mobile OSs Apple. Android and Windows.
Windows failed because there were almost no Apps for their OS. Everybody was building only for Apple and Android. So Windows had to give up.
Why should a user buy Nothing Phones when at release practically all apps and games aren´t available.
same goes for Computer Hardware, image a new company wanting to sell their own hardware with own OS? Where would be the Software for it? Like Words, Oppenoffice, Image Editors, Video Editing, Browsers, Music Editors, Games??
That ship has sailed. I doubt you will ever find a new company trying to sell us a new OS with basically no App Store. Imagine the cash that has to be burned until a certain Userbase is gained. Who will ever invest in that?
Regarding Emojis, this is also the point. Nothing could use own emojis on own apps, but how would messaging apps use them? Why should they use them? Which other App dev would for what reasin want to implement Nothing Emojis on their app. As only a very small percentage of users would have the desire to use them.
A nice topic and a nice idea, also i do like the way you thing of Nothing as a company. But there are surely limits 🙃
