'Mobile network not available' - Phone (2)

The error message “Mobile network not available” appeared on Nothing Phone 2 (Less than 1 month old), and connecting to Wi-Fi was also unsuccessful. After attempting to restart, the phone appears to be dead and fails to turn back on. Can anyone please help ☹ ?

I contacted Nothing Support, and they are asking me to visit the service center. I’m quite frustrated that all of my data is on my phone and that I have to surrender it to the service center.

abiedassery Press and hold the power and volume down buttons until a load screen appears. Use the volume buttons to go down the list and select “Recovery mode.” Press the power button. After the phone restarts, use the volume buttons again to select “Wipe data/factory reset

did you try your SIM in another phone ? to exclude that it’s not a SIM card problem

abiedassery I don’t know of any other way sorry maybe try a soft reset power device off using method above do nor reset it and leave it for 30 seconds or so and try turn on again, raise a ticket with support they can advise what to do next if it won’t boot up and stuck on the bootloader

kyl3 Still not working. In the bootloader, it shows “Device state locked.” Does that mean anything?

abiedassery I think that just means carrier locked or the bootloader is locked not too sure but it’s nothing about device being unusable I would definitely contact support as maybe another way to go about it before doing a factory reset

abiedassery Just visit the service centre, don’t take too many punga on your own.

Request them to fix the issue while you wait.

There doesn’t seem to be any other option.

Try wipe cache partition see if does anything but I wouldn’t mess around with it as will end up wiping you phone and loose everything just a warning

Thanks guys for your suggestions. Visited service center, It was mother board issue and the mother board got replaced after waiting 1 week. All the data is lost and its very disappointing for a such a flagship phone.

Gun_Put Yeap cloud backups for everything cause phones these days aren’t as reliable as they used to be. Best phone I ever had was my Nexus 5 which I still have & 2nd to that was the OnePlus 7 pro, still got the former, can you believe that phone came with wireless charging lol.

Nexus 5 was my first smartphone too & then Oneplus 5.

Loved both of them.

With this one, I must confess to a rising buyers remorse.

I had pinned my faith on Carl Pei doing everything to remove the shortcomings, ironing out the bugs in the OS but now I perceive, with a sinking feeling that the priorities are somewhere else.

Should have heeded contrary advice……

I’ll admit the same, I had this sneaky feeling at the back of my mind, he would do a OnePlus, so far he’s not let me down, the logic & mentality towards users is carbon copy & 5 months on Nothings changed.
