Rudi Your ear (1) now connects really well to third-party apps and laptops. Like really well.
Just updated, and the experience switching between my iPhone an Mac is now butter smooth. Well done.
Will come back with more comments as I try them out
Akis What should we bring next to ear (1)?
In terms of features, other than what the others above commented (which I totally agree on), it would be great if you could have some additional controls within the app and on the buds. Let’s split this suggestion into two main parts for more clarity (realizing my post became quite mixed between the two):
Settings within the app so that I can choose which source to connect to.
I’m not always sure which device is currently connected. On iPhone for example, checking if the device is connected takes some seconds by navigating down the settings tree and if it is not connected its connected to some of my other devices. On my Mac it only takes half a second or so by moving the cursor to the top right where I can click to see sound channels, its a lot easier to see if it is connected to it. If I had the feature to see my connections within the app I would have full control over which device is currently connected and I can also switch devices if I want to, without having to guess which device its connected to, and if it was not it I need to go to the other devices to check. UPDATE: Enhancing the experience even more at the very bottom of this post.
Gesture (tap+long hold or toggle pair button on the case, could possibly be customized) on the buds/case to toggle between devices. The buds could give me sound feedback when switching devices, so I don’t need to open any settings or app to check which one is currently connected.
A suggestion could be to be able to toggle on the earbud itself or the case with some gesture to connect to the previously connected Bluetooth device, or similar, but also have the tools within the app to maybe switch to either source (what my Bose headphones are able to do by toggling the pair button). Idk if there are any technical limitations as of right now with the Ear(1) for doing something like this, but in either case, something I feel would really enhance my experience.

UPDATE: another thing I realized after writing this is that if I were able to choose source connections within the app, it would also be neat if I could arrange them in priority. For example, I often sit at my office desk where both my phone and computer are located. I don’t know the rule for which device the Ear(1) today will first try to connect to, or if this is totally random (my experience is that it could be random), but if it is random I could then re-arrange in the app that it should pick my computer as priority 1 if both my phone and computer are found. By doing this I can have control for which device will (probably, if both are able to connect without glitches) be connected in this specific scenario when I’m at my desk. When not at my desk, I know it will not find my computer so then connect to my phone. This sounds like a very trivial problem, but in terms of smoothness, it is hard today (without having to look in the settings for both devices) to know which device it is currently connected to. Maybe also a voice could be incorporated into the sound of switching device “Filip’s MacBook connected” which is really neat feedback that my Bose headphones give me. Then I always know which device I’m connected to without having to open the app or any settings.
