Nothing Studio

Every artists dream, would be the microphone, mixer, headphones and general set up all being Nothing. Conceptually if Nothing made a microphone that competed with the best studio microphones in terms of compression, audibility and frequency retention, I can’t see why anyone would want to ever buy any other. The Nothing Headphones concept was amazing to see in the latest Nothing reacts, now if there was a Nothing Mixer (1) with glyphs showing the volume levels and where the peak in frequencies occur for mastering and engineering a record, I think it would be great to see some of the best producers in the world tap into that.

SGDenz Love this idea and would really like to see someone produce some renders to show how it could all look together. What sort of design style do you think the hardware would take? Quite a lot of transparency, or just certain elements?

Louis ☕️ because the mixer volume levels normally show the audio gain, there would be a specialized glyph set up that shows an equalizer to some extend on the mixer. The transparency would only be able to go so far because then we have to take into consideration how the model would come out. The wiring on the board beneath the surface might confuse the user too much unless the color coordination allows them to differentiate the top of the mixer to the rest of it. Conceptually I was just thinking of this aloud, it would need a focus group to analyze the unique traits and qualities that would differentiate it from any other mixer

I would also like to hear your ideas in terms of design. Teenage Engineering (who already work closely in collaboration with Nothing) produce a lot of audio equipment already. Do you think the designs would be similar/inspired by or do you think they would go a completely different direction?

Derren I did my research just now into some of the audio equipment made by Teenage Engineering and you are on the perfect direction of what it is design like. I loved how the CM-15 looks and corelates to the rest of the other studio equipment and the fact that the tx-6 allows multiple devices to connect at a time. The hardware design for the mixer seems to be controlled by the physically and the difference for a ‘Nothing x TX-6’ would be that the glyph would be where the controls arms are and it would be touch screen. With its own smart control so it could be transparent but liable for use. again, its just a concept I thought about but would need to do thorough research and development. All in all, I love what the company Teenage Engineering has to offer
