Nothing OS: Widget Ideas

Let’s do some collaboration in the community and get some NOS widget ideas. Anyone that does UI concepts can reply with their take on it.

widget for a notepad. I have the one from Keep on my screen, allowing me to add some tasks.
But I would like one that will allow me to add quick notes from the lock screen, the way you could do it on the Note phones once you pull the pen out.

I would love to stack some widgets. I know it is already implemented in iOS but imo it is very useful. For instance during the week I need different widgets then during my weekends. With some stackable widgets I could avoid changing my home screen two times per week.

I look forward to reading some more ideas about potential new widgets 🙂

I wonder, since many of our widgets have swipe gestures, if there would be a conflict!

Thank you for your reply! I want to suggest four possible solutions:

When you tap and hold you could add a quick toggle next to the pencil symbol to switch between different widgets.
You add an arrow on the very right or the very left to switch with only one tap.
When you swipe with two fingers you can switch between widgets but that could be complicated when using your phone with only one hand
You could double tap to go into switching mode and after that the normal swiping function is deactivated and you can switch between widgets. When choosing the one you need then you can tap again to go back to normal use

The 4th solution is my personal favourite due to easy explanation for customers and easy to use.

Rob ⚡️ The current Nothing widgets gestures are in vertical scroll, we could use horizontal scroll.

Til (21) there is a thread posted on Nothing community talking about a concept called Nothing spaces, I think that could be a possible solution for your case.

Hello Everyone,

I have a great idea, we should have more options for the lockscreen widgets. Apple for example has a pretty cool system tbh. I would love to use widgets of any app like an F1 countdown to a race or a football match score, or even a prayer time reminder. I don’t think it could be difficult to give us more options regarding this problem.

Please add ”Flip to Glyph” widget.

Its so irritating that we need to goto Glyph settings then toggle the “Flip to Glyph”.

Is this to place the phone face down and still have loud notifications and Glyphs?

Not a use case I have thought of, but a nice idea for a Quick Settings widget for sure! Have you submitted it as feedback via your Nothing Phone? - Done via Settings > System > Feedback
