Hi after the 2.5.1 update, my Nothing Phone(2) phone/calling capabilities have been severely impacted. I want to follow these steps as provided by Rob in this post: https://nothing.community/d/1531-nothing-phonenos-bug-reporting-guide but this option is not there anymore in [Settings > System > Feedback]. Also searching for “feedback” in settings does not yield the option.

The problems I’m facing right now:
- Bluetooth phone communication is severely broken in my Tesla. The moment you want to call someone from the car, the whole bluetooth stack crashes on the phone.
- The internal linking from other applications to the phone app (the original supplied one on the phone (Google), latest version) is severely broken. I.e. does not work. For instance, when finding a contact in the original (Google) contacts app, and you want to call them from the contacts app, you get the dreaded super annoying short pop-up “You have disabled a required permission”, but yet all the permissions are set correctly.

yes phone has been rebooted reset etc but the problems still persist.

NB. the problems started right after the update from the latest beta to the official 2.5.1. version.

Hai Everyone,

I recently updated by Nothing Phone 2 to Nothing OS 2.5.1. But after the update, I am unable to make calls through Google’s Contacts app. It shows “You have disabled a required permission”. I am able to make calls through the recent logs in the Phone App.

I have checked and verified that all required permission for the Contacts app are enabled.

Anyone else facing this issue? Is there a fix for this without resetting the phone?

burakdede Additional: Uninstalling app updates to Phone app and updating again seems to fix the issue for me. I guess it triggers to regain permissions or something like that.

It still needs a fix to those who are going to update from lower versions and not aware of the fix.

Some community members have reported that they have been able to fix the issue by uninstalling the most recent updates for the phone application. Once done you can then reinstall the updates via the play store.

To do this, long press on the phone app and press app info. Head to the three dots in the top right of the next page and press uninstall updates. Then head back to the play store and search for updates.

This should trigger the permissions again, if not, try restarting your phone.

Of course this is likely just a temporary measure and a more permanent fix may be on the way.

This has also happened to mine,making phone unuasable for me,obviously the idea of having contacts in my phone,and the ability to call contacts from that list is to save me remembering every number in my head!!!!

sim back in Pixel till this is fixed,only had the phone a few days!!!

Some users report it’s fixed by itself. I don’t know it’s a server side thing from Google or Nothing but that seems fine now.
